Stage 1: Initial market entry
The company was already active in Ukraine, supplying some hardware to local partners. However, it faced challenges in navigating the rapidly evolving political and war-time environment and in maintaining an effective network of relationships with its (potential) partners in Ukraine.
DDC maintained direct, personal contact with relevant decision-makers on behalf of the company. To strengthen its local presence, the company leased an office space within the DDC office, including a registered address at a different location than the physical location – for safety.

Stage 2: Trade Mission and Investment Exploration
The company sought to visit Ukraine with one of the trade delegations to explore the market further.
DDC organized a secure and well-structured trade mission to Lviv and Kyiv. DDC managed all logistics, including secure transportation and accommodation, ensuring the delegation could focus fully on business objectives.
Result:
A highly efficient visit to Ukraine, featuring productive meetings with relevant companies, key individuals and production sites.
Doing business in Ukraine means showing up and meeting face to face. The project that were going slow before, had now been given new energy.
Stage 3: Local Entity,, team expansion and strengthening of local presence
To further formalize its presence, the company aimed to establish a Ukrainian legal entity and explore opportunities to leverage European Union and other international financial instruments.
DDC connected the company with a leading accounting firm, trusted local law firm, and an excellent international bank operating in Ukraine for a smooth landing in Ukraine. DDC then provided guidance and introductions to an different consultancy organisations in Defence to further help the company.

Successful establishment of a Ukrainian limited liability company (LLC)
Expansion of team from 1 to 5

Active Ukrainian subsidiary that is accountable for 70% of company’s new leads and revenue.
Stage 4: EU funding instruments
To further develop the company’s business, DDC helped with introductions to international consultancies specializing in EU Funding instruments. Through this collaboration, the company and its partners are now actively working on EU funding to scale up their impact.
